KDF DONATES ELECTRONIC DEVICES & DATA PLANS TO SABPS
Spring 2021 - KDF's Partnership with the St. Ann's Bay Primary School - Earlier this year we kicked off our partnership with the St. Ann’s Bay Primary School (SABPS) located in St. Ann, Jamaica. SABPS is a co-ed public school with Grades 1 – 6. Primary schools address the educational needs of children ages 5 – 12, and prepares them for high school.
During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, over 20% of the students enrolled at SABPS (~ 210), were not able to participate in the online classes due to the lack of a computer or tablet and/or limited or no access to data.
Through the generosity of our donors, in January 2021 we were able to ship 36 Lenovo Tablets and protective cases to SABPS, valued at $3,700 USD.

We also provided funds in the amount of $600 USD, which allowed the school to purchase approximately 170 data plans for the students who need it.

Together we are helping to bridge the digital divide, which supports the Jamaica Ministry of Education, Youth and Information's initiative to provide "A Device for Every Child". Our goal is to continue to provide support to SABPS through our Education & Literacy Program, as we work with the school's Principal and continually assess the needs of the school and its students.
