What is a Lime?

Some of you are probably asking "What is a Lime?" Our Trinidadian friends already know, but for those who don't know, a Lime (or Lyme as some Jamaicans spell it) is simply an informal gathering with family and friends, which in most cases includes food, drinks and music. Also, to lime means to hang out or socialize. So when someone says "I was liming" they mean "I was hanging out" or "I was spending time with friends". In some Caribbean cultures, a Backyard Lime, which is held at someone's home, is a regular occurrence.
